Motor Chain Tensioner Hydraulic Control Valve Block: Safeguarding Heavy-Duty Operations for Coal Mine Scraper Conveyors
At the fully mechanized coal mining face, the scraper conveyor is the core equipment ensuring efficient coal evacuation. Due to high-intensity, continuous heavy-duty operation, the scraper chain is highly prone to stretching and slackening. If not tensioned in a timely manner, it can lead to serious accidents such as chain skipping, derailment, or even chain breakage. Therefore, the hydraulic chain tensioner has become an essential safety tensioning device.
Mechanically, the motor chain tensioning device is typically installed on the connecting housing between the electric motor and the reducer within the scraper conveyor’s drive unit. A large gear designated for chain tensioning is mounted on the input shaft (first shaft) of the reducer. During tensioning, the hydraulic motor drives the input gear, which transmits torque by meshing with the large tensioning gear via an idler gear. This torque is then transmitted to the reducer’s input shaft, ultimately driving the sprocket to rotate in reverse. This action causes the conveyor chain to move backward slowly until the standard tensioned state is achieved.
The core function of this valve block is to drive the forward and reverse rotation of the motor and provide absolutely reliable braking control for it.
